Spanish speaking client seeks assistance probating her husband’s estate and obtain title to her home. Client’s husband died intestate in 2017, leaving client and four adult children as his heirs. Client and her husband share three children, all of whom live in Puerto Rico, while client’s husband has one other adult child from a previous relationship who lives in Philadelphia. All children are willing to give their interest in the property to client. It is important that client obtains title to her home as it needs repairs to the floors, walls, and ceilings. Additionally, client has concerns with water service to her home due to her name not being on the deed. A volunteer is needed to help open her husband’s estate, draft a deed in client’s name, and apply to the Tangled Title Fund to pay inheritance taxes.
