Philadelphia VIP is a nonprofit that recruits and supports volunteer attorneys to represent low-income Philadelphians who face critical legal issues but cannot afford a lawyer.
Our permanent staff team consists of attorneys, case managers, and other professionals and is highly collaborative, creative, and passionate about our leveraging model of service. VIP’s team also includes law student interns and attorney fellows.
Reporting to a Supervising Attorney, this Staff Attorney will support VIP’s low-income clients facing critical legal needs, and recruit, train and support volunteer attorneys. While this position will support an array of civil case types, the primary focus will be on landlord-tenant matters.
Reporting to a Supervising Attorney, Pro Bono Case Managers play a critical role in VIP’s volunteer-based service model. Focusing on a variety of legal issues, Pro Bono Case Managers have primary responsibility for preparing cases for placement with volunteer attorneys, matching clients with volunteers, and providing logistical support to attorneys and clients throughout the life of the case.
VIP offers paid internship opportunities during the spring, fall, and summer semesters for law students.
