Case #26-0124817

Client living with a disability and mental health diagnosis needs assistance with an eviction hearing scheduled for Monday, August 24, 2026, at 8:30am in Municipal Court. Client’s landlord is suing for $3,611.75 in back rent and associated fees. Client is not named in the suit, although she is the sole tenant, because her recently deceased mother leased the unit on her behalf. Client lives alone in the unit, paying the landlord directly out of her SSDI check for the last eight years. She fell behind on her rent due to out of pocket medical and transportation costs after her mother suffered a serious accident earlier this year and passed away. Client has applied for Section 8 housing and would like to move into a subsidized unit, but pending acceptance of application, wants to avoid homelessness. The landlord is represented by Mark Renaldo, Esq.
