Responsive client seeks representation at her Municipal Court (MC) collections hearing on December 16, 2026, at 9:00am in Room 5. Plaintiff is third-party debt collection agency, Midland Credit Management, Inc., who has sued client for ~$7,000 for an overdue credit card bill with original creditor, Synchrony Bank. Client has not yet been served, but received the statement of claim by mail without exhibits. Client believes this was the credit card she used when she purchased her cabinets in 2021. She made payments through the beginning of 2024, after which she lost her job and could afford to continue with the payments. Client would like to dispute the claim, but would be willing to work out an affordable payment plan if needed. A volunteer is needed to represent client throughout the case. Note that client also has another collections matter open with an MC hearing date of December 11, 2026. The volunteer is encouraged, but not required, to take both matters.
