Please join Philadelphia VIP and Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia for a two-part estate planning clinic for Philly homeowners. Training will be provided.
This program will be held at First Corinthian Baptist Church in West Philly over two dates:
Training and Client Matching (April 30): Following a one-hour training, you will pair with a Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia partner family or neighbor. Using VIP’s case file and estate planning questionnaire, you will begin making documents like a will, power of attorney, and advance directive.
In between the training and notarization day, you will have time to continue discussions with your client and draft the documents using VIP’s resources. Clients will have time to consult with family members and be sure of their decisions.
Signing Day (June 4): Meet your client at the church to execute the estate planning documents in front of a notary and witnesses provided by VIP.
Volunteers should plan to commit to both meetings. Attorneys and other legal volunteers are welcome, but non-attorneys must bring a Pennsylvania attorney who will supervise their work.
Registration is now closed. Please contact Vijaya Singh with questions.
